"The Chiemsee Reggae Summer"
6.-9. July 2000 - Übersee am Chiemsee (Germany)
last update of the information: 03.07.2000

Chiemsee Reggae Summer is one of the oldest Reggae events in Europe and beside summerjam one of the most successfull ones. The concept is a to bring Reggaemusic into the region of deep down bavaria. This results in a programme that contains up to date reggae artists plus famous stars of the Reggae and Worldmusic scene.

Usually the weather is one of the big problems of Chiemsee Reggae Summer. In the last years they always drowned in heavy rainfalls that resulted in the most muddy festival ground since woodstock. But for 2000 the whole area has been rebuild with a new waterdraining and partially solid ground. This includes a fixed area in front of the main stage and in the big party tent. So, it did rain in the last years on the old ground, now it will never rain again after that big investment....

The main festival will take place on the 7th and 8th of July 2000 at the beautiful area between Chiemsee-lake and the Alps. On these two days on the mainstage artists like Ziggy Marley and the Melodymakers, Mr. Beenieman, Buju Banton, Israel Vibration, and Michael Rose will appear on the huge main stage. Besides there is a party tent for more concerts and soundsystems including Rockers Hifi, The Rootsman, Soundquake and PowPow, see the running order for details.

The whole festival will be braodcasted live on the internet: Here is the link!
